I really think the story could have benefitted from being told in two parts.
Most likely Nolan couldn’t be bothered with it, and also some people would feel overwhelmed knowing they will have to wait another year at the least to watch the second part.
Still, there was so much content from the original story cut out that would have contributed to fleshing out the characters (specially Odysseus and Penelope).
I would’ve loved to see Nolan’s take on the full story. Still, good movie and I’m glad I watched it.
